I've been sharing my adventures alongside Ruby since 2022, both on this blog and on social media hoping to inspire others to do more with their dog and seek out similar experiences. I firmly believe that every dog deserves to experience life beyond their backyard and make adventures even better.
I’ve been traveling since I was a kid, but it wasn’t until college that I developed a passion for planning my own travels. Since then, I’ve traveled to 30 countries by the age of 30, experienced 4 of the 7 continents, and have crossed off 31 states - 15 of which have been with Ruby.
Since becoming a dog mom, my perspective on travel changed and I simply didn’t want to experience new adventures without my furry bestie. Everything from chasing fall foliage in New England to admiring the glacial lakes in Banff, if it’s dog-friendly we’ve experienced it or it’s on our bucket list.
My favorite adventures include romping on the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea, hiking amongst towering redwoods, and napping in luxury hotel rooms.
Born in St. Louis where my humans are from, I’ve been living my best West Coast life since I was 2 and have explored 15 (and counting) states.
When we’re not traveling, I’m the ultimate homebody with a strict nap schedule and a love for my routine and daily walks.
To us traveling and being a pet parent go hand in hand. They both:
Melanie has been with her partner Mike for nearly 15 years. He’s fondly known as doodle dad and can usually be found behind the camera. Melanie and Ruby both love to sleep in, spend time outside, and rarely miss their daily walks.
