Experience the beauty of the Almond Blossoms in Modesto, CA. From the vibrant colors of the blooming trees to the delightful fragrances of the season, Modesto is an ideal destination for Almond Blossom season.
Almond Blossom season is the time of year when the almond trees in Northern California bloom. This occurs between February and March, depending on the weather conditions. This natural beauty draws thousands of visitors each year to see the flowers blooming on the trees in almond orchards all over the area. The blossoms are not only beautiful but also produce delicious nuts after they’re pollinated.
Many of the Almond Blossoms you’ll see around Modesto are private farms, and therefore private property, but there are two farms that are open to the public: Rodin Farms and Roberts Ferry Gourmet in Waterford. Be sure to follow the signs in the orchard to stay on designated paths and be mindful of any bee boxes that may be at the end of the tree aisles. The bees have a very important job to do once the trees bloom.
Early in the season, you’ll find the blooms on the trees but as the season comes to an end and the blossoms start to fall you can experience the instagram-worthy scene of “snowfall” on the rolling hills with the Almond Blossom trees. These photos were taken the first week of blooming season. For a more white covered scene, visit the third or fourth week of the blooming season.
