Puppy Newborn Spoof Photoshoot

Do you all remember this newborn photoshoot spoof from 2016? Doodle Mom saw it and totally related. Like this couple, she is constantly asked about marriage and children and has had years of practice in crafting her response as to why it’s not for her and just prefers being a dog mom.

At the time of this inspiration, her and Doodle Dad just had a deposit down on me and I wouldn’t arrive until October 2016, so she kept the idea in the back of her mind for when they finally had their new puppy.

Photoshoot Scene

Like most newborn photoshoots, Doodle Mom wanted to do the session in our home in St. Louis and even bought a personalized “Ruby” baby blanket to swaddle me in. We posed in the usual baby holding positions, but I was not a fan of laying on my back or having my front paws swaddled in the blanket.

Our photographer specializes in dog photography, but has also done human newborn photoshoots and brought a basket with filling along as an additional prop. Doodle Mom is so glad she did because to this day these are still some of her all time favorite photos of me.
