If you’ve ever wanted to watch a Giants game from Oracle Park with your dog by your side — this is your moment. The San Francisco Giants host two Dog Days events each season at Oracle Park, and they are exactly what they sound like: a real live baseball game where your dog is an invited, ticketed guest. We’ve been a few times and the energy in those designated sections is something else entirely. Hundreds of dogs, a pre-game field parade, and partial proceeds going to the SF SPCA — it’s one of the most purely joyful sporting events in the Bay Area.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Dog Days 2026.

ToggleThe Giants are hosting two Dog Days events this season:
Dog Days 1 — Saturday, July 11, 2026 Giants vs. Colorado Rockies Pre-game field parade before first pitch. Partial proceeds benefit the SF SPCA.
Dog Days 2 — Saturday, September 12, 2026 Giants vs. San Diego Padres Pre-game field parade before first pitch. Partial proceeds benefit the SF SPCA.
Both games fall on a Saturday — which makes it easy to build a full San Francisco dog-friendly weekend around either one. More on that below.
Both you and your dog need a ticket to attend. Dogs are assigned to designated Dog Days seating sections (bleachers), and both human and canine tickets must be purchased together.
Tickets sell out quickly — especially Dog Days 1 in July. Book as early as possible.

This is the moment everyone comes for. Before the game starts, dogs and their people are invited down onto the Oracle Park field for a parade — yes, you and your dog actually walk on the same warning track where the Giants play. It’s as chaotic and joyful as you’d imagine. Plan to arrive early to make sure you don’t miss it. A line starts building around the perimeter of the stadium a few hours before first pitch.
Your tickets will place you in sections specifically designated for Dog Days attendees, which means you’re surrounded by other dog owners rather than scattered throughout the park. The energy is genuinely different from a regular game — expect lots of sniffing, some barking, and a very enthusiastic crowd. I’m always so impressed with how respectful everyone is – your neighbors all try to offer space so pups aren’t on top of each other and everyone is just genuinely happy to be their with their pups.
Oracle Park is one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country on any given day. Add a few hundred dogs, a pre-game field walk, and a gorgeous San Francisco Saturday — it’s a genuinely special experience. There’s always a few dog specific jumbo screen moments (think the lion king theme song) with a few fun interviews throughout and a costume contest. Not to mention there is potty area setup in the bleacher section with some special dog-centric vendors/partners passing out swag towards the start of the game.

With both games on a Saturday, Dog Days is a natural anchor for a dog-friendly San Francisco weekend. A few ideas for building the trip out:
Friday: Arrive and explore the Embarcadero waterfront with your dog, grab dinner at a patio restaurant in the Mission or Dogpatch neighborhood (both are extremely dog-friendly), and stay near Oracle Park for easy Saturday morning access.
Saturday: Dog Days game, then head to Fort Funston for an off-leash sunset walk along the bluffs if energy permits.
Sunday: Crissy Field, the Presidio, or a trip over the bridge to Sausalito for brunch before heading home.

Oracle Park sits in the Mission Bay neighborhood, which has several excellent dog-friendly options for before or after the game:
Do dogs need a ticket? Yes. Both humans and dogs need individual tickets to attend Dog Days. All dogs must be in the designated Dog Days sections.
What vaccinations are required? Dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. You’ll sign a waiver confirming this when you enter.
Are there size or breed restrictions? No breed restrictions are listed for Dog Days. Dogs must be well-behaved and under control at all times.
Can I take my dog anywhere in the park? Dogs must remain in the designated Dog Days seating sections. The pre-game field parade is the exception — all Dog Days ticket holders are invited onto the field for the parade before first pitch.
What if my dog gets overwhelmed? Hundreds of dogs in a confined space is a lot of sensory input. If your dog is showing signs of stress, give them space, step away from the most crowded areas, or step outside the seating section. Your dog’s comfort comes first.
Can I buy tickets at the gate? Dog Days games sell out well in advance. We strongly recommend booking online ahead of time.
